When is ISEA2023?
The 28th International Symposium on Electronic Art, will be held in spring-summer 2023 in France :
- The academic programme will take place from 16 to 21 May 2023 in Paris.
- The artistic programme will take place in spring-summer 2023 throughout France.
What's International Programming Committee (IPC)?
The International Programming Committee (IPC) is made up of international experts renowned in their domains. The names and affiliations of the IPC members will be published on the symposium’s website, in the conference proceedings, and other publications relevant to the conference.
How will the artistic projects be supported ?
The works selected in the framework of the call for proposals may be presented in the cultural venues of ISEA2023 throughout the artistic programme, the funding of the works and artists presented will therefore depend on the hosting policy of each venue.
ISEA2023 does not have a budget for the production of works, so the proposed works must already exist.
Are symposium speakers paid ?
ISEA is an international non-profit organisation that promotes interdisciplinary academic discourse and exchange between culturally diverse organisations and individuals working in the arts, sciences and technologies. ISEA exists because of the willingness of its speakers and participants to come together to debate and exchange on common themes.
There is no remuneration for speakers presenting at ISEA2023.
Will international speakers be able to deliver their conference remotely ?
International speakers who cannot travel to Paris during the symposium will be able to present their conference online under certain conditions.

Who can apply to ISEA2023?
Our call for proposals is open to artists, designers, researchers, makers, hackers, game designers, engineers, and all kinds of organizations — universities, schools, research groups, businesses, NGOs, associations, shared spaces, and more. ISEA2023 Paris, France is a multi- and trans-disciplinary event. Cooperation between different domains, sectors, and disciplines is highly encouraged, as are transversal approaches that question the borders between such spaces. All domains, disciplines, research concerns, and fields of creation are eligible, as well as all those related to the creative industry (video games, new media, etc.)
ISEA2023 seeks to offer a richly diverse event, including new forms of creation and knowledge-sharing. The following list of concerned forms is non-exhaustive:

Can I submit more than one proposal? (artistic and academic) ?
Yes, you can submit more than one proposal for all kinds of categories (e.g. artistic works, academic papers, workshops, etc.).
When are the selected applicants for ISEA2023 announced?
– Call for artistic proposals: Mid-December, 2022
– Call for academic proposals: March 3, 2023
Can I update my submission after I submit it?
Authors can update their submissions before the deadline. Once the deadline closes, however, authors cannot make any changes to their submission.
Why do I need to remove my name from my paper proposal?
ISEA operates with a double-blind peer-reviewed policy; authors of academic submissions are requested to remove their names and institutions ahead of submission for review and to add back their names for camera-ready version. Any other features that might identify the authors must be removed ahead of submission.
Do I need to sign the copyright form?
Yes. All authors have to sign the copyright form.
